Planting Ambassadors for Israel

YOU absolutely can change the world! 🌎

Feeling hopeless? Discouraged? Alone? Insignificant? 😭

Are you too looking at the headlines 📰of a world gone mad 💥and wondering how you, surrounded by the very mundane demands of emails, zoom meetings, piles of laundry 🧺and dishes to do, can make any modicum of a difference?

Don’t pull the covers over your head 🛌and go back to bed (at least not every morning:-) Go grow an ambassador! 🌻

As you all know, after Oct 7, I found myself so gutted day after day. On November 11, I sent a seemingly innocuous message to colleague Kari Warberg Block “Catch up?” It was one of several calls I made to non-Jewish colleagues and friends who I knew to be among the “good eggs”. Having spent a career dedicated to helping farmers and farms, I thought she’d have compassion for the thousands of farmers who were peacefully at home when they were savagely mutilated and taken…the day when farmers could smell the stench of their crops, livestock, fields and homes burning, the day they saw their babies burning in their home ovens. (Hint- the day after October 6, 2023)

She was way more than moved to compassion, she wanted to do something! I had this notion that we had to build ambassadors, people respected in their field who could not only tell a different story of Israel, but would want to create something of their very own.

With Kari, first we discussed a webinar, then a podcast series. A month after my first “catch up?”, and many hours of calls and emails later, I called and said “I’ve been thinking, let’s just go to Israel and film.”

Long story short, this became a true story of a woman with a mission and you see here the first growths of this beautiful planting. Kari is now an ambassador of ReGrow Israel and leading her own campaign to help Israel farmers in the most most real and impactful ways. And here’s part of the magic: I have never met the great folks at ReGrow or walked the same farms Kari did during her amazing time in Israel. The seeds were planted!

You must know the analogy of skipping stones: 💧you throw a pebble and have no idea how far the ripples will go…🌊 I know the world is particularly scary right now and I know for sure how it feels there is so little we can do. And yet you can absolutely, positively and irrevocably change the world. You.

Look at us. Pick up the phone. ☎️ Send an email. 📧Think of a bit of good you can add to the world right now. And if you’re passionate about health or technology or climate or security, if you’re into construction or redevelopment, non meat proteins or solar energy…

Slide into my dm, give me a ring, let’s “Catch up” We’re planting ambassadors. ❤️❤️❤️
